Privacy Policy
Last Updated: May 23, 2026
At NormalGravity, we believe data privacy and sovereignty are fundamental human rights. Because our code editor is built entirely by and for the open-source community, our privacy architecture is simple: we do not collect your files, track your keystrokes, or gather telemetry.
1. Core Sovereign Principles (Editor Telemetry Guarantee)
Unlike mainstream corporate editors, the compiled NormalGravity desktop application is designed to be telemetry-free by default:
- No Background Analytics: The Go-based daemon core does not report usage statistics, indexing logs, crash logs, or startup behaviors to any servers.
- No Keystroke Tracking: All file edits and keystrokes happen locally inside your filesystem sandboxes.
- Data Minimization: The editor is fully functional in completely offline, air-gapped network environments.
2. Voluntary Information We Collect (Website Notifications)
The only personal information we collect is what you voluntarily provide to us on this pre-launch landing website:
- Email Address for Release Alerts: If you voluntarily submit your email address in our "Get Release Alerts" newsletter section, we store it securely for the sole purpose of notifying you when the first Developer Preview compiles and becomes available.
- No Selling of Information: We will never sell, lease, trade, or distribute your email address to commercial third parties, recruiters, or advertisement agencies.
3. Large Language Model (LLM) Data Handling
NormalGravity is designed to operate on a Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) or Local Offline model:
- Local Inference: If you use local offline execution (such as Ollama or local LLM runtimes), zero code contexts or prompts ever leave your local computer.
- Remote API Integrations: If you secure NormalGravity with your own private API keys (such as Anthropic, OpenAI, or DeepSeek keys), the prompt packages are transmitted securely from the editor directly to those designated API gateways. NormalGravity does not proxy, analyze, or log those transmissions. Please refer to your chosen LLM provider's privacy policy to verify their custom API prompt storage limits.
4. Your Universal Rights (GDPR, CCPA & Global Compliance)
Regardless of your geographic location, we extend the highest standard of data sovereignty to all users. Under global data protection frameworks (including the European General Data Protection Regulation, the California Consumer Privacy Act, and other international privacy frameworks), you hold full sovereignty over your email address:
- Universal Right of Erasure: You may opt-out or unsubscribe at any time. Simply contact our core developer maintainer team at hello@normalgravity.com to request immediate, complete erasure of your email address from our secure release registry.
